Researchist is made by the team behind Essayist, the academic writing app. The two apps share one iCloud reference library, so reading and writing stay connected.

One library, two apps

• Papers you add in Researchist appear in Essayist's Reference Manager, ready to cite.
• References you add in Essayist appear in Researchist when they have a PDF attached. Researchist only shows references that have a PDF.
• Your highlights and notes are stored in the PDF, so they are right there in Essayist when you consult the paper while writing.

Hide references without a PDF

If your Essayist library has many references without PDFs, keep Researchist tidy with Settings › General › Hide References Without A PDF.

Get Essayist

If Essayist isn't installed, Researchist shows a short introduction in Settings › Essayist with a Get Essayist button.

Discount for Essayist users

Essayist users get a discount on Researchist Pro. The code is in Essayist under Settings › Researchist. See Subscription, Free Tier & Essayist Discount for how to redeem it.
